“If I can't picture it, I can't understand it.” A Einstein
At Kingsdale Foundation School, we follow the AQA Specification for A Level Physics with the option for students to do the one year AS course. We cover a wide range of topics over the course of the two years; including Particle Physics, Materials and Nuclear Physics.
We have planned a trip to CERN in Switzerland to give the students an opportunity to see what Particle Physics is like after A Level. We run afterschool sessions to ensure students do not fall behind in the subject and do regular assessments to allow the students to track their own progress.
In the Physics department, we like to promote self learning. We do this through mixing KS4 and University teaching styles, training students to make notes and be responsible for their own learning.
Information on the course can be found on the Physics Course guide. If you need any further information on the course, please feel free to contact Miss Ip (Head of Physics) for more information.
